PRF / PRP
(Platelet Rich Fibrin / Platelet Rich Plasma)
What is Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF)
Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) is like a second generation to Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP). PRF, is an all-natural solution that can rejuvenate areas in the face that show the first signs of aging, like under-eyes, deflated cheeks, smile lines, lips and in the scalp for hair restoration.
PRF is derived from a simple blood draw done in office. The whole blood is then spun down in a centrifuge. The PRF is drawn from the tubes. Depending on the treatment, different types of PRF can be generated such as liquid PRF, concentrated liquid PRF, or PRF gel filler. If it is a simple liquid PRF session, such as for the under eyes, then the procedure only takes about 15 minutes. If PRF gel filler is chosen for the treatment, then the process takes an additional 15 minutes since it requires a few more additional steps in the preparation process.
PRF gel is a revolutionary advancement in aesthetic medicine! This technique allows us to actually create a gel filler that is 100% natural and derived from YOU! No additional products are used to create the substance that is injected. Many patients fear filler because they don’t want the actual product in their face or it comes with an “unnatural stigma”. This is the solution! It is 100% natural. Nothing is in the tube except for what is derived from your own body. Zero additives are used. During the PRF gel filler preparation process we actually create a gel using your albumin then combine this with concentrated liquid PRF. This allows the release of 7 different types of growth factors for up to 6 months. The gel revolumizes while rejuvenating tissue.
PRF Procedure
Depending on how many areas you want treated, a volume of blood will be taken. This is usually between 10 to 30 ml. PRF can treat many concerns such as; facial rejuvenation, acne scars, under eye hollowness, and hair loss.
Facial rejuvenation, Acne scars, Under eye hollowness, natural filler: Upon arrival to your appointment, blood will be drawn from your arm and placed in a centrifuge. After it is spun and separated, the PRF is injected into the area. The PRF promotes wound healing and regenerates the growth of collagen and elastin to the area it is injected.
Facial Rejuvenation with PRF after Microneedling treatments: The treatment begins with microneedling with Radiofrequency to create micro channels into the tissue. PRF is then spread on top of the micro channels to allow deeper penetration of the growth factors. This expedites healing post treatment and enhances overall skin quality.
Hair Loss: PRF can also be successfully used to treat thinning hair and hair loss, particularly male pattern baldness. Just as with facial rejuvenation, blood is drawn from your arm and placed in a centrifuge. After it is spun and separated, the PRF is injected directly into the scalp at the level of the hair follicles. Injections are made approximately at every half inch over the area of thinning hair. The PRF helps stimulate the activity of the hair follicles and promote new hair growth.
P Shot (also known as the “Priapus Shot®“: , after receiving the P Shot you may experience a longer, firmer, and long-lasting erection, a fuller penis size, increased sensitivity and increased sexual stamina. Sexual sensations are heightened resulting in increased sexual pleasure.
It is recommended that patients receive a minimal of 3 PRF (liquid) injection treatments at 4-6 week intervals for maximum results.
FAQs
How is PRF obtained?
We start by drawing your blood.
Next we spin down the blood in a centrifuge using a low spin speed to preserve majority of the cells.
We then obtain the PRF from the vial and apply it to the treatment area.
How is PRF different from PRP?
PRF is like the “next generation” PRP. PRF is 100% natural. No additives are used. The spin speed is much slower. The PRF is a much more concentrated solution. It contains platelets, leukocytes, and mesenchymal stem cells. This triggers your body to release growth factors for 14 days after application with liquid PRF versus only 4 hours with PRP. PRF gel actually releases growth factors for up to 6 months.
What can PRF be used for?
PRF can be used to promote collagen formation, tissue rejuvenation, and hair regrowth. It can be applied topically or injected into the treatment area.
Common treatments:
